2005 US Open Re-cap
November 22nd, 2005 by Geoff Thomsen
What an event! By far, the best day of racquetball was Saturday. The semi-final matches were amazing! I think Rocky Carson has a few new fans after his match with Kane. ROCK-Y, ROCK-Y, ROCK-Y! All contenders fell short for the Canadians, as Kane and Christie rose to victory on Sunday.
DoubleDonut.com stats:
Days at the event: 4
Hours at the event: 57
Pictures taken: 7200
Redbulls: 12
I’m going to do my best to get some teasers online ASAP, followed shortly by full galleries for each match.

Hey Geoff,
Are those your pictures on the US Open site?

Some of the pictures on the US Open site are indeed mine. The majority of the shots currently there are not mine however.
Any shot of mine will be clearly labeled with my logo and copyright. If the picture is missing this, it’s not mine.
Mike Boatman, the other photographer at the event, is responsible for most of the others.

Yeah, I thought so.
No disrespect to Mike, but when I saw the darker, non-crisp pictures, my first thought was they weren’t yours. Then when I came to your site and saw Kane’s picture, I KNEW they weren’t yours.
He obviously wasn’t using the Canon lense you recommended in a meet & play post.
Can’t wait to see your complete set.

he are we gonna see any amature events on the site?

Unfortunately I could only cover events at the main club. Also, the lighting on the back courts is HORRIBLE with the orange-ish house lights reflecting off the glass.
Only the pros this time ..
