Craig McCoy Pro-AM – Battle of the Tape

January 13th, 2006 by Geoff Thomsen

Using IRT data from Boss Consulting, I’ve determined the winner of the event based solely on previous matchups.

Huczek moves into Semi#1 with a 2-1 win record over Thoerner, as does Carson with a 1-0 record over Hawthorne. In Semi#2, we have Swain over Beltran with a 7-6 win record; and, Mannino over Vandy 6-1.

Semi#1 will be close, with Carson having a 4-3 win record over Huczek. I’m not sure if those stats include National Singles, but this one could really go either way. Sticking with the raw numbers, we have Carson advancing. Semi#2 should have Swain easily advancing with a 24-9 win record against Mannino.

The finals should pit Carson against Swain, with Swain taking the trophy with a 10-4 record. If Huzcek can continue his National Singles winning streak against Rocky, Swain will have his hands full. Huczek has a 11-5 win record over Swain, meaning Huczek finishes with top honors.

If you want to see what actually happens, the schedule of matches is: Qaurterfinals are Friday evening 5:30-8:30pm PST, Semifinals are Saturday 4:00-6:00pm PST, and the Finals are Sunday at high noon.
