More Details of Oregon State’s National Championship
April 2nd, 2006 by Geoff Thomsen
I know, and have watched Dan Cramer play numerous times. This story doesn’t surprise me one bit.
From John Ferguson, former President of Oregon’s Junior Racquetball Association:
There is a great story from Dan Cramer’s semi-final match against Shane Karmelin of the University of Alabama (who was the favorite). As it turns out the winner of this match earned enough points to win the overall team title for his team. At 10-10 in the tie-breaker and Dan serving, there was a fierce rally and Shane skipped the ball. Or at least that is what the referee called. A lengthy discussion took place. Finally, Dan, who had not participated in the debate, stepped in and offered to replay the point. Another fantastic rally, and Dan hit a great kill shot to win the game, match and, it turned out, the National Championships for his team. Great stuff!!! Dan, you are really something special.
