Some interesting news has come down from USA Racquetball about the dates for the 2008 USA Racquetball National Doubles Championships. Instead of the traditional late-fall timeframe, the date has been moved to February 13th – 17th, 2008. This move is part of a grand scheme to shuffle around dates for many of the sport’s top events, including the US OPEN.
One interesting side effect about moving the tournament is that the time period between the 2007 and 2008 Championships will be only 5 months!! Those Gold Medal finishers in 2007 better not let their game slide before the event comes back up in early 2008!
The 2008 USA Racquetball National Doubles event is being moved from September to February 13th – 17th due to the necessity for the 2008 US OPEN to move to October.
To separate the three major events as much as possible it was determined that the second week after the Super Bowl would be the best date for National Doubles. National Doubles will still be held in Tempe, AZ.
